Town Cottage Renovation This old cottage on a town center lane, built in 1840 as a traditional three-quarter
Cape, lost much of its classic character with a utilitarian addition in the
1960’s. The current owners wanted to open up the rear of the cottage
to bring in more light and to create an inviting transition to the backyard
garden in a way that is congruent with the original Cape. Only a few small
changes – traditional paned windows, French doors, shingles, restoration
lighting, and a low deck – restored the charm of this historic home
and enhanced its livability and comfort. After...
